Language: Swift, Python(ML)

With the advent of 24/7 technology-driven society, there are rising discomforts and increasing concerns over sleep. Quality of sleep critically affects human well-being and everyday performance. A good night's sleep, therefore, is essential to prepare one's mind and body for the next day. SleepThermo is a system that identifies the affect of in-cloth monitored body temperature change during sleep on human well-being.
SleepThermo is an iOS app that collects survey responses on sleep quality and mental/physical conditions using the Apple ResearchKit. Furthermore, it receives in-clothing body temperature data from a wearable device ``Ran's Night’'. The device is 6.9 x 5.1 x 1.2 cm and weighs 77.1g. It is used by clipping onto the users pants, and collects in-clothing body temperature with two sensors: (1) body sensor and (2) outer sensor. The data is extracted by scanning the QR code presented on the display of the device. While in-clothing body temperature does differ from the core body temperature, the difference is considered insignificant. The main feature of this device that made it ideal for this research is its ability to collect in-clothing body temperature continuously during sleep, without burdening the user.
